What Hromadske Radio learned in 7 days in the US

Hromadske Radio spent a week in New York City and Washington, DC to connect with their US counterparts in public radio. Razom volunteers arranged the program and hosted the team, and the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv awarded Hromadske Radio a travel grant.

Razom IT presents “Swedish company investing in the future of IT in Ukraine”

In the April Razom IT Speaker Series event at Civic Hall, Jakob Kegel spoke about Beetroot Academy‘s recent initiative “Frontend-developer: Training Program for Internally Displaced People in Ukraine.” The program is free of charge and designed for IDPs from Crimea and eastern Ukraine. About 30% of Beetroot Academy students are women and 50% of the graduates get placed as developers full time.

Meet Hugo, our first RWB fellow!

We are thrilled to welcome Hugo Spaulding as Reformers Without Borders Fellow!

 

Hugo is joining Odesa team from Washington, D.C., where he has studied the conflict in Donbas at a think tank since 2014. As a RWB Fellow, Hugo will be promoting local small businesses working in sectors like tourism, IT, and alternative energy. His work with local government, businesses, and investors will aim to help Odesa’s economy thrive and empower reform-minded Odesans to effect positive change in the region.

Introducing the Reformers Without Borders Fellowship program, Razom’s newest initiative.

Reformers Without Borders (RWB) is a short-term exchange program that brings fellows from the United States and other countries to Ukraine to work on building a bridge of trust between local governing bodies and citizens. Fellows will build and maintain an open relationship between government and civil society to support reform projects.

Supporting Hospitals in Ukraine

Razom has provided a $3,000 grant to the Support Hospitals in Ukraine project. The project is committed to raise $100,000 to send five 40-foot containers to Ukrainian hospitals in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and other areas in need. Five containers will equate to more than $2 million worth of medical equipment and supplies that are specifically requested by hospitals in Ukraine.
