Our mission is to offer psychological support to those who have experienced the hardships of war, including children, adolescents, and adults. We aim to assist them in overcoming feelings of fear, anxiety, chronic stress, panic attacks, apathy, and more. Our goal is to stabilize the psycho-emotional well-being of all those in need.

Our therapy services are available both online and in-person, with one-on-one sessions conducted by experienced psychologists. We provide both group and individual therapy sessions at our centers, as well as on-site sessions at locations such as centers for internally displaced persons and hospitals.

This project is implemented by “Together for Ukraine” with generous support from Direct Relief.

Focus Areas

We constantly analyze our experience and reevaluate the approach to best fit the current situation and patients’ needs. Our goal is to embrace and address all challenges that arise along the way

Programs →

Focused programs for group therapy sessions

Razom Means Together

Group therapy is more effective if the same group stays together for multiple sessions. We launched two 6-session programs for children aged 6-14 and 8-18. Both programs employ various therapy techniques like art and breathing.

Awareness →

Raising mental health awareness in Ukraine

Mental Health Care

Raising mental health awareness through publicity and in-person outreach is one of the primary objectives of the project. In addition to working with IDP center leaders, and developing our infrastructure, we partner with local TV and Radio channels.

Stigma →

Removing stigma from receiving psychological help

We are Here to Help

Seeking psychological support from a professional is still heavily stigmatized in Ukraine. Men and the older population are especially reluctant when it comes to therapy. Even mothers who seek help for their children sometimes refuse it for themselves. Group sessions and in-person outreach help the patients who still face the burden of stigma left by the Soviet era to ease in.

Transparency →

Open communication and thorough reporting

Honesty and Integrity

Financially, we have established a comprehensive recording system and can trace back every dollar spent. Culturally, our goal is to build a community of people united by the same mission and values. Our psychologists have volunteered in the past and care deeply about Ukraine, its people, and its future. In return, we value their feedback and make sure all questions get addressed.

Project History

How It Started

Razom started developing this project in May 2022 and in August 2022 we received a grant from a US-based foundation wanting to provide mental health support to Ukrainians.

Since then, we have established two mental health centers in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk where patients can receive psychological support and learn coping tools to deal with trauma.

Reaching People Who Need Our Help

Once the team and locations were ready to host group and individual therapy sessions, we publicly launched the “Razom With You” project, established its social media presence on Instagram and Facebook.

There’s also a QR-code to simplify the outreach and registration process.

Internally Displaced People Processing Centers

We partnered with local governments to organize outreach trips to equip IDPs outside of our Support Centers with basic coping skills and mental health tools.

Additionally, our psychologists visit the IDP processing centers to reach people and help them sign up for mental health services in-person.

listening carefully to those we help

Children have their own way of telling war stories. They often tell escape stories as something that was very exciting. This however is a mask as they are unable to cope with what happened to them.

Ivan 13, Nikopol →

Ivan said he was afraid of holes and large insects that bite. His drawing revealed that the holes he was afraid of were holes in a human. We later learned that Ivan was a witness to a deadly shooting. Witnessing terrible events, children often reproduce them in their drawings. With these pictures, we learn what cannot be learned verbally.

Sonya 12, Kherson →

Sonya, her mom, and two sisters traveled for a week. Sonya told us how their bus got lost in a marsh in a gray zone between Ukrainian and Russian troops. They spent a day in a flooded bus hearing explosions, rockets, and gunfire. Ukrainian army rescued them. Sonya misses Kherson watermelons. Sonya believes they will soon return to Kherson, so she invites everyone she encounters to enjoy watermelons there.
