Razom Advocacy, a branch of Razom, is dedicated to advancing U.S. legislation and policy for Ukrainian victory, and to nurturing community engagement across the United States. Razom is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Role

The Director of Community Engagement is a strategic leader responsible for mobilizing constituents and communities across the United States to advocate for Ukrainian victory. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive community engagement strategies, building relationships with key community leaders, and fostering a grassroots network of supporters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in community engagement, a deep understanding of the U.S. political landscape, and a passion for empowering individuals to make a difference.

The Director of Community Engagement leads a 2–4 person Community Engagement team, setting strategic goals and managing workflow for staff, volunteers, and interns. The incumbent reports to the Advocacy Director and works alongside the Director of Government Affairs, who leads the Government Affairs team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Mobilize Constituents and Communities: Spearhead efforts to engage constituents and communities across the U.S. in advocacy for Ukrainian victory, leveraging diverse outreach channels and strategies.
● Develop and Implement Community Engagement Strategies: Craft and execute comprehensive community engagement plans to empower constituents to advocate effectively for the U.S. to help Ukraine prevail.
● Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Oversee Razom’s strategic priorities for outreach and collaboration with other non-profit organizations, community groups, diaspora communities, and key partners.
● Lead and Manage Community Engagement Team: Lead and manage a 2-4 person Community Engagement team, providing strategic direction, setting clear goals, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
● Establish and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with influential community leaders, including faith leaders and ethnic community leaders, to amplify advocacy efforts. Proactively seek out new partnership opportunities that align with Razom Advocacy’s strategic goals and establish connections with new organizations as needed.
● Represent Razom: Represent Razom at community events and meetings, effectively communicating the organization’s mission and initiatives to diverse audiences.
● Measure and Analyze Impact: Track and analyze community engagement efforts to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
● Coordinate Constituent Fly-in Events: Oversee the organization of constituent fly-in events, selecting attendees, managing logistics, and ensuring a seamless experience.
● Empower and Mentor Team Members: Empower team members (employees, contractors, and volunteers) by communicating clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and recognizing and celebrating achievements. Plan and organize teamwide projects and initiatives, including opportunities for team building, workshops, goal-setting activities, and social engagements to promote cohesion and camaraderie.
● Onboard and Train New Team Members: Oversee the onboarding, training, and mentorship of new team members, including interns and volunteers assigned to the Community Engagement team.
● Maintain Team Records: Ensure the proper maintenance of team records and documentation.
● Collaborate with Full Razom Staff: Regularly collaborate and communicate with other Razom staff to ensure alignment of Community Engagement priorities with other teams and to maximize impact.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

● Unfailing dedication to Ukraine’s victory against the Russian invasion.
● 5+ years of experience in community engagement or organizing, government, community organizing, government affairs, advocacy, grassroots movements, or another related field.
● Deep understanding of the U.S. political landscape and diverse communities.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Bachelor’s degree in public policy, international relations, international affairs, or a related field; post-graduate degree preferred/
● Strong multitasking, project management, and event planning skills.
● Desired qualifications: advanced proficiency or fluency in Ukrainian language and existing network who can be mobilized in support of Ukraine.

LOGISTICS AND BENEFITS

● Salary range: $80,000/yr – $120,000/yr. Final salary based on experience and qualifications as well as finalized scope of work.
● In-person work requirement: 50%. Travel requirement: 5–15%
