Assistant Director of Major Gifts (Major Gifts Officer)

Full-Time 

Based on the east coast or hybrid.

 

 

DESCRIPTION

Razom is seeking an experienced and passionate Major Gifts Officer (MGO) to support individual-focused fundraising as part of Razom’s comprehensive Development strategy to raise operational and program dollars that our organization needs to serve our mission. 

As a member of the Development & Communications team, the MGO will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with assigned major donors to secure funds, and report back on progress. The MGO will work with internal stakeholders to create operational and strategic funding opportunities to promote organizational objectives. The ideal candidate should be a people person with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Top candidates will be able to solve problems and develop individualized strategies that work for different donors.

 

REPORTS TO

Vice President of Development with secondary reporting responsibilities to the Director of Development & Engagement. Works closely with Prospect Manager/Data Specialist.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Raising funds for our organization. 

Maintaining and building relationships with our current donors. Researching and meeting with prospective donors; discovery and qualification. 

Working with Prospect Manager/Data Specialist, to create and develop a major donor portfolio and manage individual fundraising strategies that work for each donor; cultivation and solicitation of assigned donors. 

Adhere to metrics and financial goals as agreed with the Vice President of Development (VPD). 

Creating monthly reports that outline the funding secured. 

Meeting with other members of the organization to ensure that priorities and objectives align. 

Working with the Donor Stewardship Manager, preparing private and public acknowledgments to thank donors; organize major donor cultivation and stewards events/activities. 

Provide regular outcome reports to VDP, Director of Development & Engagement (DODE) and members of the Executive team. 

Ability to travel regionally.

Occasional attendance at evening and weekend events.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

3-6+ years experience in fundraising, with a focus on major gifts; consideration given to candidates with experience and transferable skills in sales or business development. 

Experience with CRM and wealth screening. 

Knowledge of donor lifecycle. 

Ability to work collaboratively across organizational lines. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. ● Continually seeks new sources of prospective donors, partners, and volunteers and provides recommendations to the Development team. 

Proficiency of Ukrainian language/knowledge of Ukrainian audiences not required but a strong plus.

SALARY RANGE: $70,000-$95,000 

Final salary based on experience and qualifications.
